This User Verification Policy outlines the steps, requirements, and terms under which user accounts (individuals, breeders/businesses, and veterinarians) are verified before posting listings, offering services, or interacting with others.

Our verification system is designed to:

• Prevent fraud and impersonation
• Ensure legal and ethical compliance (including Lucy’s Law and DEFRA guidance)
• Protect buyers, sellers, and animals involved

Why verification is important

Verification is required before you can:

• Post live pet or animal listings
• Offer veterinary or pet care services
• List accessories, pet food, or commercial products
• Create a breeder or veterinary account
• Access premium advertising options or Boost Plans

Types of accounts & required documents

a. Individual (standard account / Xclusive user)

Minimum required

• Full name
• Valid UK mobile number (OTP-verified)
• Valid email address
• Location / postcode

Optional

• Profile picture
• Government-issued ID (optional but may be requested for flagged listings)

b. Breeder / business account

Required documents

• Business or trading name
• Breeder’s licence issued by the local council
• Government-issued & verified ID
• Proof of address
• Website or social media handle (for vetting, if available)
• VAT registration (if applicable)

c. Veterinary / professional services account

Required documents

• Full name of practitioner
• RCVS registration number (UK veterinary licence)
• Valid ID (passport or UK driving licence)
• Proof of business address (e.g. clinic invoice or letterhead)
• Qualifications (degree certificate optional but encouraged)

Step-by-step verification process

• Signup & basic details — You choose account type and submit email, phone, and location.
• Upload documents — Forms and uploads depend on account type; documents are encrypted and stored securely.
• Manual review — Our team typically reviews within 24–48 hours and may ask for clarification.
• Verification badge — Verified users receive badges (e.g. standard, breeder, vet tiers).
• Live listings — Only verified users can post or boost listings, as applicable.

Reverification & monitoring

Users may be reverified if suspicious activity is identified. Titans Pet LLC UK may also perform random audits.

Re-verification may also occur when:

• A breeder licence expires
• Contact information is updated
• Fraud or misrepresentation is suspected

Refusal, suspension & appeal

Titans Pet LLC UK reserves the right to:

• Deny verification for falsified or unclear documents
• Suspend accounts pending investigation
• Remove listings that bypass the verification process

Data protection & GDPR

Personal data and verification documents are handled under GDPR and UK data protection rules. We:

• Use secure encryption and storage
• Do not share confidential documents except where required by law
• Allow requests to delete verification data through our DSAR process

Reporting suspicious accounts

Please report:

• Fake listings
• Unverified sellers requesting off-platform payment
• Attempts to bypass Titans Pet LLC UK safety policies
